Our Story
Sparkle Sisters was created from a moment that stopped us in our tracks.
While working at a local community bank, Alyx was given the opportunity to earn additional income by observing the quality of cleaning services being provided. What she saw was disappointing — third-party cleaners rushing through their work, spending more time on their phones than caring for the space, all while charging outrageously high prices for minimal effort.
An incredible coworker encouraged her to put in a bid. As a community bank that values local businesses, they gave her a chance. Alyx submitted a proposal built on fair, local pricing and a genuine commitment to representing the institution with professionalism and pride. They took a chance — and Sparkle Sisters was born.
As we grew, we realized this wasn't just one building's problem. Too many commercial cleaning companies rely on third-party services with no connection to our city, no accountability, and no pride. Businesses were being overcharged while receiving inconsistent, underwhelming service. We built the alternative.
About the Owner
Hi, I'm Alyx Richards, a proud fourth-generation Beloit native who truly believes there is no place like home. Although I briefly left to earn my undergraduate degree in Economics and Finance from Lewis University, I always knew my future — and my family — belonged right here in the Stateline community.
Professionally, I have spent most of my career in the banking industry, building a strong foundation in finance, operations, and customer service. I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Finance and earning a Certificate in Corporate Finance at UW–Whitewater, while continuing to grow professionally within the energy sector. Alongside my career, I remain deeply involved in community leadership, serving as Treasurer for Rising Professionals with the Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce (4 years and counting) and on the Executive Board for Beloit Caritas — both roles centered on strengthening and uplifting the Beloit community.
I'm also a proud mom to my son, Armani, who inspires everything I do and motivates me to build a strong, stable future close to home.
My entrepreneurial journey became deeply personal when I met my fiancé, Chandler Stevenson. As a single mom working two jobs at the time, we bonded over our shared passion for flipping and remodeling homes — something we both learned by watching our fathers. As we renovated our own properties, I naturally took on the deep-cleaning side of each project, which ultimately sparked the creation of Sparkle Sisters.
Today, Sparkle Sisters reflects my commitment to supporting local businesses, investing back into the Stateline community, and creating meaningful opportunities for families like my own. By choosing local, we can grow stronger together.
